Wow, the german based Chaos Computer Club has successfully managed to hack the call-a-bike system, created by the Die Bahn. The call-a-bike system is a bike rental service, allowing you to drive a bike everywhere you go, for 6 euro cents per minute. After discovering a not properly locked bike, the CCC opened it up and started the reverse-engineering process. The results of this, dubbed hack-a-bike, allows you to drive a bike for free, granted you have a STK500 developer board, and about 12 minutes of uninterrupted access to the bike. I’ve updated the gallery software to gallery2-alpha4. Reason for doing this, is getting rid of the dbm based database used by gallery1. I’ve been test-driving gallery2 for quite some time now, and although it has bugs here and there, it’s way better than gallery1. Be sure to checkout their website for more information. Ofcourse, check out the gallery too :)
