It’s pretty rare to hear anything about North Korea that doesn’t go through government channels. However, sometimes that just happens. By clicking on this link or the image below, you can get a sneek-peek at this last stalinisticly run country. Picture credits go to Eric Lafforgue.

Site update

I’ve upgraded wordpress to the latest version a couple of moments ago. So far, it looks good, haven’t seen it breaking on the various little hacks I’ve made in it over the past time. I’ve also cleaned up the links section. If you think you’re missing out on the links list, give me a shout.

Meanwhile, my mother finally got around to fixing herself and her husband a new website. Although they are still under development, you can have a look at saleomarin.nl and gitaarsax.nl.

Munin sucks

I’ve ditched Munin in favor of zabbix. Munin is nice if you have a small farm of machines and want to quickly setup some graphing, but if you want to graph an enterprise class network with it, it falls short on lots of points. Zabbix on the other hand is also master/agent based, but it has lots of features that make it ready for enterprise class networks. Best of all, all data is stored in an SQL database, which allows reports to be generated from SQL instead of RRD files, which makes it suitable to attach something like Crystal Reports to it.

In other news, I’ve permanently left tweakers.net. There are some nice people on there, but I’m not going to put up with the total cluelessness of some people there. Too bad, their loss… We had a really nice time over at Kogelvis two weekends ago. He threw a housewarming party and people from all over the place came over. I really like his neighbors though ;)
